Excellence - Can do - Librarian - #10

On Thursday I had Librarian with Charlotte, when we got there we started off by going and getting the books off the trolley and placing them were the numbers or letters say it goes.
Secondly it turned out the juniors were doing some activities so once we had finished putting all the books away we could leave if we wanted.
Instead we stayed for a little bit to see what they were making and it turned out that they were making lanterns.
Firstly they drew what pattern the wanted on it. Secondly they went to see how they where supposed to cut it. Next we decided to leave.

I showed respect by when I was putting the books away not just walking though the juniors work.

I was also being trustworthy by staying at the library to make sure there wasn't anything else to do

Excellence - Can do - Librarian - #9

On Thursday I had Librarian with Charlotte, when we got there we started off by going and getting the books off the trolley and placing them were the numbers or letters say it goes.
Secondly we returned this whole box of books which took us even longer because the computer went out of it when we only had a few more books to go so we had to do it again.
Next we placed all of those books back on the shelves where they are meant to go. Then we issued some books out for two people near the end .
After that we went around closing the library and tidying up everything.

I showed excellence by helping Charlotte put the booksw back and making sure she didn't do all of the work.

I was also being self aware by turning up to my duty on time

Excellence - Librarian - Can do - #8

On Thursday I had Librarian with Charlotte, when we got there we started off by going and getting the books off the trolley and placing them were the numbers or letters say it goes.
Secondly we started returning books by Charlotte was on the computer and I was scanning.
Next we issued books out for people it was really busy so it took a long time.
Then we went around telling everyone that the library was closing.
After that we went around  tidying up everything.

I showed community by staying there the whole time and not just walking out.

I was also being trustworthy by showing up on time

Excellence - Librarian - Can do - #7

On Thursday I had Librarian with Charlotte, when we got there we started off by going and getting the books off the trolly and but on the shelves.
Secondly we started returning books by Charlotte was on the computer and I was scanning.
Next we issued books out for people by Charlotte typing in there name so that once I scan it the book will be out under there name.
Then we went around telling people that we were closing the library.
After that we went around tidying up the cushions, chairs and books.

I showed respect by communicating respectfully.

I was also being motivational by suggesting appropriate books

Excellence - Peer Mediation - Can do - #10

On Monday Emily and I had Peer Mediation at morning tea. We out on our vests, but I forgot to put on a lanyard, which was rather silly of me, and that's one of my goals on my action plan. Oops!!! But anyway, we went around the playgrounds, then the field, and we had a teensy tiny problem in the kakano area, but it was so little it wasn't actually worth our time to record it, as the problem was that a child couldn't do up their shoelace, so we did it up and went on with our duty. That's pretty much all of the things that happened, but then when we went to put away the iPad, etc., the door was locked to the classroom!!! Oh dear!!!

I think that the care value I showed was Respect, because it was a little bit hard not to have a wee giggle at the kid who needed his shoe tied up, so we respected his problem by not laughing at him, and I showed leadership by showing up to my job

Excellence - Peer Mediation - Can do - #9

Yesterday Emily and I had Peer Mediation, aka on Monday at morning tea. We got our vests and lanyards, but we couldn't find the iPad and the pozis had gone walk - about's too. We figured the field was shut (which it was) so we didn't take as long as we usually did, so that was good, but we still had to go around the kakano area.
The kakano area was rather loud that day, but we didn't get any problems, which was great!! Then, we had to go around to the back of rooms library, 9, 10 and 11, as that is where the Year 7 and 8's are allowed to go when the field is shut. There were no problems there either.

I think that the CARE Value I used was Community, because I showed up to my job and therefore helping the community by being out there in case anyone has a problem, and I think I showed leadership by doing my duty properly and following the mediation process.

Excellence - Peer Mediation - Can do - #8

On Monday at morning tea I had Peer Mediation with Emily. We put our vests on, got our lanyards, but we couldn't find the iPad, so that was kind of annoying. The field was shut that day, so it meant that we had to add an extra little trip on our duty, down behind the library, and the block of classes from 8 to 11, as this is where the year 7 and 8's go when the field is shut. There were thankfully no problems in the year 7/8 area, so that was good and it seemed like everyone was getting involved with four square or netball or something like that!
We then went around the courts, and everything  was cool beans there, then we also floated over to the Kakano area. We walked around there for about 5 minutes, with one child coming to us with a problem, which was he didn't have anyone to play with, so we set him up with some people in the sandpit.

I think the CARE value I was showed was Respect, because I respected that I took up this role by showing up, and respecting the little kids problem and helping them find a solution.

Excellence - Can do - Librarian - #6

On Monday, at lunch, I went to the library to do my duty. As always, I needed to put the books back on the shelf to start with. After putting them away, I issued some peoples books. A few people asked me where to find the books they were looking for. For example, Rainbow Magics, Beast Boys and Bear Grylls. There were also a lot of returning going on, as the children enter in the library. I liked issuing and returning so that shouldn't be a problem.

I demonstrated respect by answering people's questions respectfully and showing them where to get the book.

I was an active thinker by doing the right thing and sticking to the job.

Excellence - Peer Mediation - Can do - #7

Yesterday at morning tea, I did my Peer Mediation duties with Emily. It was raining a little bit, so when we put our vests on, we kept our jackets on underneath which we don't usually do, but it was really cold!

The field was shut so we didn't have as much ground to cover, but we still went around all the parts of the school that was open, including the Kakano team's part of the school, but they all stayed inside so there were no problems there at all!
It looked like almost everyone in the school stayed inside beside our class and one of the others! So there were no problems at all which was awesome!

I think that the CARE value I showed most was Active Thinking, because for once I remembered to wear the lanyard, and I think I showed leadership by making sure to do my duty, and on such a cold day when I would much rather be doing something else.

Excellence - Librarian - Can do - #5

Today I did peer mediation with Emily. Firstly we went around the field but nobody was arguing but someone was in a physical conflict so we had to take him to a teacher. Secondly we went to rooms 1,2&3 because sometimes people are having arguments about sharing equipment but nobody was. Lastly we went around the courts to see if everyone was wearing their hats, and they were. I showed respect by helping the people who were hurt. I showed leadership by showing up to my duty. I was a role model by reminding people they need their hats.

Excellence - Getting involved - Must do - #5

On wednesday  I got involved at morning tea by playing dog box with my friends.
Firstly, we got   into a line behind the line. Secondly we went in the oder where everyone shot.
Next when you  missed you had to go into the dog box and if the next person got it in the you are out.
After that we keep going until the bell was about to ring.
Before it did we played a game of king which is netball basically but it is the first person to get it in wins.
Then we keep playing until the bell rang.

I showed  community by letting people  join in our game when they ask us if they could.

I also was showing integrity by playing fairly and being honest.

Excellence technology Must do #4

On Tuesday all of the year 7/8's go to Lincoln to do technology.
I'm in design and when I go there filled out a sheet that says what we wanted to get done that day.
Secondly I filled out two sheets of what I am going to make because I had finished my cushion last week so I made a badge.
Next I softened my fimo so it would be easier to work with.
Then I found some wood samples and made two crosses and stuck them together.
After that we stuck and ribbon in the middle.

I showed excellence by helping others with what they were making.

I also was being trustworthy by not wasting the fimo.

Excellence can do Peer Mediation #6

On Monday I had Peer Mediation with Emily there were no problems again which is still good.
Firstly we went around the the filed because there are always a lot of people on it so just to make sure there weren't any problems.
Secondly  we walked though the junior area and sandpit because the juniors sometimes have problems about someone pushing them or something.
Then we when around the classrooms to see what people were doing and make sure they where in the right place.

I showed respect by not walking through peoples games so that I don't interrupt them.

I was also showing integrity by not just letting Emily do all the work.
